IT’S NOT THE DESTINATION…IT’S THE JOURNEY THAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
To finish the moment, to find the journey’s end in every step of the road, to live the greatest number of good hours, is wisdom.
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
We love visiting with clients who are actively enjoying their yachts. While these owners have traveled to some of the most fantastic ports of call and truly beautiful destinations, the majority of our conversation is about the adventures they had in getting there.
We’ve had clients who purchased a sailboat in Palm Beach seven years ago. Now 75,000 miles later, they are back in Alaska for the second time in five years. They’ve enjoyed the South Pacific and Asia, and prior to that they were in the Mediterranean.
Another client purchased a 75’ motor yacht in Fort Lauderdale. He is currently in Maine enjoying the New England coastline and will return to Palm Beach sometime in October.
A client from Boston purchased a 61’ Nordlund in Seattle, Washington. He enjoyed the boat for three months traveling throughout the islands of San Juan before heading to Boston by way of the Panama Canal.
Where did you watch the fireworks on the 4th of July? One client watched them from the aft deck of his trideck motor yacht in Boston Harbor with friends. Two days earlier they were berthed at Pickering Wharf to enjoy the sights of Salem, Massachusetts. A rare tornado warning had them herded into the basement of a museum during their tour. It was all part of their adventure, and they will talk about it fondly for years.
Don’t be in a hurry to get there. Enjoy the journey.
